Doctrinal Statement

Denominationally flexible.Theologically aligned.

We know there are some organizations who will work with anyone at all, regardless of theology, which means they do not have much of a Biblical foundation for their process.

Seeking the City works with any church or organization that shares our evangelical convictions - a commitment to the Great Commission, the authority of Scripture, the deity of Christ, and the power of His death and resurrection to save.

What we believe unites us, directs us,
and fuels us.

This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, the infallible, written Word of God, is the sole basis and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Seeking the City’s faith, practice, policy, and discipline, our Board of Directors is the final interpretive authority on the meaning and application of the Statement of Faith for Seeking the City.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death and atonement through His shed blood, through His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writing, and the supreme and final authority in doctrine and practice.

Salvation

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Spirit are essential.

Forgiveness

We believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and eternal life.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of the Church, which is the Body of Christ, composed of all who are regenerated by the Spirit through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
